The Audubon Rockies is seeing a Communications and Marketing Coordinator. This person will create and implement communications strategies and marketing campaigns in support of the Audubon Rockies’ five programs, its brand, and mission. The Communications and Marketing coordinator will work closely with internal communications among staff, and external communications with the organization’s partners and constituents. This position will report to the Deputy Director. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has a passion for engaging the public through social media and other communication channels. Internal Communications: Continue to develop the organization’s strategic plan, focusing on goals, benchmarks, and measurement.
Website: Lead the creation of an Audubon Rockies blog as an effective and dynamic tool for connecting with constituents and lead generation. Work with current website administrator to update and maintain links, pages, and content.
Publications & Materials: Write and design communications materials using Rockies’ brand assets and voice. These include acknowledgment mail stuffers, fact sheets, flyers, events and promotions materials, and others as needed.
Social Media: Manage and grow Rockies’ Facebook page and groups, and its Twitter profile with a strategic posting schedule, and original and curated content. Engage with followers by responding to comments and generating authentic conversation about Rockies’ issues and initiatives. Track metrics for post and engagement performance, and analyze results for improved campaigns.
Email: Manage, and grow, Rockies’ email subscriber database, its monthly e-newsletter, and email campaigns that amplify Rockies’ events and projects; inform about urgent issues; and encourage advocacy. Use advanced segmentation, insights, and A/B testing to understand subscriber behavior and improve engagement and reach.
Content Creation: Collect and share original, compelling, human-interest stories using visual assets like videography and photography, in addition to strong writing. Develop a content editorial calendar to organize content, and use it strategically across Rockies’ media channels.
Marketing: Work with Rockies’ staff to develop and implement marketing campaigns for the organization’s priority products, events, and fundraising initiatives, strategically implementing communications channels with compelling storytelling.
Media Outreach: Work with Rockies’ Policy & Outreach Coordinator, industry partners, and the National Audubon Society’s communications team to develop new opportunities for broadcast and print media outreach. Occasionally write press releases, op-eds, and letters to the editor about timely issues. Pitch local newspapers and radio stations for Rockies’ fundraising or events promotions.
