    Position Summary

    Under the supervision of the Manager, Human Resources, the Intern Coordinator will develop, coordinate, and supervise complex and varied administrative tasks. Assists with overall planning and operational activities of the intern/fellow program. They will also provide back-up support to the HR business partner team. Intern Coordinator is based in the New York City office and this is a full time position.     Essential Functions

    • Provide support to the Manager, Human Resources for all aspects of the National Audubon Society intern and fellow programs including: talent acquisition, coordination of job postings, scheduling interviews and follow-up and build partnerships with hiring managers
    • Develop and execute intern recruitment strategy, including targeting specific schools and relationships
    • Effectively manage executive and internal referrals for internship or fellowship opportunities
    • Enforce and provide interpretation of HR policies, practices and procedures to interns, fellows and hiring managers under the guidance of the Manager, Human Resources
    • Create and lead programming for the internship and fellowship programs
    • Lead the continued development and implementation of the internship/fellowship program
    • Process new hires for onboarding; collect on-boarding forms from new hires and process
    • Maintain all  intern and fellow files and job descriptions for the organization
    • Assist the Manager, Human Resources with recruiting metrics; create spreadsheets to track the ROI for the programs
    • Develop and revise internship policies and procedures

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
    • Minimum 3 years administrative support experience; experience in a human resources department preferred; minimum 3 years leading an intern or fellows program in a nonprofit, law firm or professional services organization
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment and maintain confidentiality
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
    • Superior time management skills; ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines
    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and proofreading skills
