Position Summary

Based in NYC and reporting to the Director of Information Technology, the Product Manager will be charged with overseeing the strategic effectiveness of Audubon’s operational and programmatic work through the development and deployment of internal-facing web applications, enterprise platforms and CRMs, and data systems, much of which is centered around Salesforce.

 

The role requires a mix of business operations expertise, solid project management skills, an intuitive sense for user experience, and fluency in the tools of enterprise CRMs and operational systems. The Product Manager will work with business stakeholders to plan product roadmaps, identify and deploy solutions, and analyze metrics to enable the success of staff and volunteers who are the users of Audubon internal systems.

Essential Functions

  • Owning and driving the roadmap, technical health, and user strategy for Audubon’s internal Salesforce implementation and related data integrations with other systems, in partnership with CRM business stakeholders and at the strategic direction of the Chief Technology Officer and Director of IT.
  • Leading build/buy analysis, ideation, technical development, and launch of back office digital products that align with the Audubon’s broader operational goals.
  • Partnering with cross-organizational stakeholders to understand product objectives, develop effective product strategies, and plan product roadmaps.
  • Applying Agile and modern product methodologies, including defining and analyzing metrics and data that inform the success of internal-facing digital products.
  • Working with IT and engineering team members and vendors to prioritize work and plan sprints.
  • Participating in release and testing plans with vendors and internal developers.
  • Effectively managing a budget to align priorities, resources, and timelines across Audubon’s internal systems.
  • Writing and distributing structured release notes and tracking product goals on a quarterly and annual basis.
  • Staying abreast of developments and trends in relevant technology and identifying and evaluating new product opportunities for Audubon.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience building digital products or platforms – either internal-facing or consumer-facing.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in executing marketing, fundraising, or advocacy strategies with internal-facing systems.
  • Deep experience with CRM platforms, with Salesforce experience strongly preferred and with NGP VAN’s EveryAction a plus.
  • Experience with back office applications supporting financial and programmatic operations preferred.
  • Strong detail-oriented execution skills, and the ability to lead teams on the ground to move projects from conception to completion.
  • Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to understand and apply product needs and requirements from a diverse set of organizational stakeholders, and to communicate effectively with non-technical collaborators
