Position Summary

The Grange Audubon Insurance Center is a sanctuary for birds and nature lovers, set in parkland created from a formerly urban and industrial site in the heart of downtown Columbus, along the Scioto River.  This LEED-Certified 18,000 sq. ft. building and surrounding two-acre property brings visitors from the community and beyond for onsite education programs, as well as for special public and private events. 


The Office and Communications Administrator Coordinator is a vital part of the Grange Insurance Audubon team.  The facility/event attendant will oversee and execute signature and wedding events held on weekends and ensure the property is stewarded appropriately.  This individual will be the liaison between Grange Insurance Audubon and Metro Cuisine.  The position typically works between 15-20 hours a week and will involve working on weekends. 

Essential Functions

  • Ensure night, weekend and special event operations run smoothly.
  • Liaison between Grange Insurance Audubon Center and Metro Cuisine.
  • Perform facility set-up, teardown and nominal cleaning for internal and external customers including private rentals.
  • Serve as main contact and resource for private rental groups during events, including interacting with catering staff, bridal parties and guests.
  • Provide meeting management support and ensure that all resources are prepared for meetings (AV equipment and other necessities)
  • Perform facility walkthroughs inside and out to ensure high standard of facility cleanliness, safety and efficiency.
  • Work with staff on educational and administrative assigned projects and tasks.
  • Clear walkways of snow as needed.
  • Assist with other general duties as needed

Qualifications and Experience

  • High School degree or equivalent
  • Two to Four years related work experience required
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks through use of effective organizational and time management skills
  • Positive work ethic
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekend / evenings

Physical Requirements (e.g., lifting, reaching, push/pull, etc.)

  • Walk the property repeatedly, lift, bend and twist as necessary, with or without a reasonable accommodation, in regard to set up and tear down of furniture and fixtures in and outside of the facility.
