Position Summary

The Business Analyst is an IT role that serves in a lead project and support function across business units for addressing business process and IT systems needs and implementing system enhancements and bug fixes. This includes troubleshooting issues with supported systems and handing off issues to senior analysts, administrators, and/or application support or engineering teams, as necessary. The Business Analyst will also help implement computer system requirements by defining and analyzing system problems and designing and testing standards and solutions. The person in this role will work on core IT projects that support Audubon’s operations across the organization, including its network of field offices, and will report to the Director of IT & Application Development.

Essential Functions

  • Collaborate with business owners, project managers, engineers, and operations and maintenance resources on implementing solutions and defining constraints and risks.
  • Facilitate iterative user review sessions, identifying design improvements, managing issues and user expectations, and driving completion of key actions.
  • Gather, develop, document, and validate business, functional, and technical requirements. Support the design of IT systems.
  • Participate in Agile teams.
  • Run routine queries using SQL and work with relational databases.
  • Interact with clients on requirements gathering and system design.
  • Interact with other business analysts and solution developers to communicate and validate requirements.
  • Perform functional and integrated testing.
  • Prepare and maintain project and technical documentation and artifacts including analysis, reports, and user documentation.
  • Work with project managers, developers, and end users to ensure application designs meet business requirements.
  • Evaluate new and existing IT products and services.
  • Assist in maintaining our Salesforce instance, supporting internal customer needs including merging duplicate records, importing updated records, and cleaning up incorrect records.
  • Author and prepare meeting notes to be distributed to a variety of audiences.
  • Author user stories, test scripts, and other Agile deliverables.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Bachelors preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes.
  • Experience with MS Office, specifically MS Excel, and digital project tools such as Airtable and Asana.
  • Preferred past/current experience working with enterprise IT systems such as Salesforce, ERP solutions, and/or Human Resource or Finance solutions.
  • Experience with Data Specifications and 3rd party APIs.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Experience creating/executing software test cases.
  • Knowledge of programming concepts preferred.
  • Experience with data analysis and SQL preferred.
  • Testing automation and script development experience a plus.
  • Functional analysis and strong writing skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to travel to client site on occasion and as needed.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment under tight timelines.
  • Ability to multi-task and support multiple projects at once.

COVID Policy

All staff must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 no later than January 31, 2022, unless they are approved by Human Resources for a qualified exemption. Those unvaccinated after January 31st will be required to follow a weekly testing protocol.

 

All unvaccinated staff are required to wear masks or other approved facial coverings while working indoors at all times or outdoors when social distancing cannot be maintained. Further, effective December 13th, any unvaccinated staff person entering an Audubon building must submit a negative Covid-19 test that has been taken within 72 hours. 

 

This policy is effective through February 27th and may be changed due to changes in the law and/or changes to Audubon policies such as the Return to Work/Hybrid Work policy.

 

All new hires must be fully vaccinated prior to their start of employment unless they are pre-qualified by HR for exemption.
